Mr Sole Abode
Mr Sole Abode is a world-renowned architect, a master chef and an outlandish inventor…and he lives in a fridge under a bridge. He is coming to The Old Fire Station for one night only.
Unable to function under the strains of contemporary urban living, Sole has left behind the everyday world to inhabit his own unique reality and he would like to invite you to join him.
Infused with physical lyricism, bold text and touching humour, Leo Kay’s poetic tale explores sanity and madness; inviting you to see the world through the eyes of an outsider.
Inspired by the character Azuro from Ben Okri’s award-winning novel, The Famished Road, Leo originally created the show in 2006 in collaboration with renowned writer/director Benji Ried, with set design by surrealist puppet company; Faulty Optic. In this unique redevelopment, directed by multi-award-winning theatre maker Stuart Bowden, Leo is joined on stage by multi-instrumentalist/composer Daniel Marcus Clark (EarFilms), who creates a magical live score using an enchanting collection of handmade junk metal instruments and electronic samplers. Takes place 13 February at 7:30pm. Tickets are £12/£10 from ticketsoxford.com
