Roald Dahl Day
"Celebrate with storytelling, drop-in crafts and special birthday offers in the shop."
The museum will be packed with exciting and unexpected surprises. Smell your way through the SCENTenary Trail, write your own lines for the Big Birthday Poem, meet Storyteller in Residence Sandra Agard and join in with special Roald Dahl 100 art activities!
Explore the village on our guided walks and enjoy face painting, balloon modelling, magic and Archive Talks throughout the day.
Plus visitors to Great Missenden can join in with activities at Great Missenden Library, the inspiration for Matilda’s library, and can watch a special scratch ‘n’ sniff screening of the 1996 film Matilda at Great Missenden’s Blue Door Cinema at 3pm (book via bluedoorcinema.org).
For a slightly quieter experience the museum will be open for free 3pm-5pm on Tuesday 13th September, the day that would have been Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday. Celebrate with storytelling, drop-in crafts and special birthday offers in the shop. Come in fancy dress for the chance to win some buzzwangling prizes!
