Afternoon Tea at Exeter College

This Easter Exeter College will once again open its doors to the public for their now-legendary homemade afternoon teas.

This is a rare and exclusive opportunity to take tea in Exeter’s Jacobean Dining Hall - once graced by JRR Tolkien, William Morris, Philip Pullman and Roger Bannister - and sample homemade scones and jam, sandwiches and petit fours created by their award-winning chefs.

Tickets will be available to purchase from the Exeter College Porters’ Lodge from Friday 25th February for bookings on Wednesdays-Sundays from 16th March to 14th April.

Why not make a night of it! Exeter is also offering the chance to stay in one of their historic bedrooms in the heart of Oxford and enjoy breakfast in the Dining Hall. Stay in the room that Tolkien once called home, look out onto the quad where Inspector Morse famously collapsed, and take in the location that inspired Jordan College in Pullman’s His Dark Materials.
