The Sixteen celebrate 20 years of their Choral Pilgrimage tour with music from 16th and 17th Century Rome, a city which has inspired countless pilgrimages, and where each of the four composers in this year’s programme created some of their finest work. Motets by Josquin and F. Anerio are framed by Victoria’s powerful Tenebrae Responsories for Holy Saturday with all culminating in Allegri’s eternal Miserere.
The Concert will be preceded by a workshop for singers of all abilities, led by The Sixteen's Associate Conductor Eamonn Dougan, focusing on vocal production, breathing and ensemble skills, taught through the medium of two works by Josquin and Victoria.
