Smash hit musical, The Waitress, is coming to Oxford. Starring Chelsea Halfpenny (Emmerdale, Casualty) as Jenna, the romantic musical comedy will be at the New Theatre in Oxford between 25 – 30 April 2022.
Based on the 2007 movie and with music and lyrics by Grammy-award-winning Sara Bareilles, The Waitress has been loved by audiences since its Broadway debut in 2016. It tells the story of Jenna who is dreaming of a way out of her loveless marriage with the abusive Earl. A new doctor in town plus a nearby baking contest give Jenna the impetus to rebuild her life – with plenty of help and encouragement along the way from her fellow waitresses at the all-American diner in which she works.
