A Circular Walk Around Charlbury

OxCRP Charlbury Walking Trail Map JPEG

A new trail map launched by Oxfordshire Community Rail Partnership (OxCRP) has been designed to help visitors and locals explore Charlbury straight from the train station. It connects Charlbury’s independent shops, cafes, key landmarks and picturesque picnic spots with surrounding countryside, making it easy to step off the train and into the heart of the Cotswolds. The aim is to encourage sustainable travel and support local communities, following on the recent relaunch of the OxCRP TrainTripper platform, which allows users to track carbon savings from rail travel (traintripper.co.uk/).

Nestled in the Evenlode Valley, Charlbury is known for its surrounding countryside, thriving red kite population and the businesses which line it’s pretty high street. Commenting on the launch of the new map, Executive Director of OxCRP, Hannah McDonnell, said: “From the moment you step off the train, you’re surrounded by everything that makes the Cotswolds so special — nature, heritage, and a strong sense of community. We hope this inspires both locals and visitors to explore more, all while making sustainable travel choices…we’re showing how simple and enjoyable it can be to travel sustainably while supporting local communities along the way.”
