Northampton-born pop singer-songwriter Billy Lockett has released his long awaited debut album Abington Grove via Photo Finish Records, alongside new single and video ‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’, stream here and watch here.

Along with the release of his album, Billy has announced instore dates and a UK headline tour for April/May. More dates will be announced, and tickets will be available for presale Wednesday 22nd February via Billy’s patreon/newsletter, with general live sale on Friday 24th February.

‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’ appears on Abington Grove, and is a message of self love and powering through the dark days. The track sees the singer-songwriter manoeuvre his rich vocals to falsetto peaks, delicately partnered against rich piano, low slung drum beats and euphoric crescendo of emotion.

‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’ follows Billy’s previous single ‘Miss Missing You’ which is playlisted across BBC Radio 2 and BBC National, with the powerful video delivering a message of timeless love, featuring on MTV among others.

Abington Grove is the debut that has been over a decade in the making. “Every song is a different piece of my life,” Billy says “whether that’s involving love, addiction, self-doubt, or euphoria…building this body of work has been my therapy, and I can honestly say I’ve never been more proud of anything.”

Having supported the likes of Lana Del Ray, Lewis Capaldi, Birdy, and KT Tunstall, Billy Lockett has rubbed shoulders with the stars while amassing over 140 million collective streams and tens of thousands of fans across the globe for his powerful and emotive songwriting spanning a myriad of genres. Last year he played a packed-out headline show at London’s Islington Assembly Hall.

Billy will be at The Bullingdon, Oxford on Wednesday 3 May.
