Currently Craving: Hada Labo

I’m a bit embarrassed that Hada Labo haven’t frequented the pages of this magazine as much as they deserve. After all, they are Japan’s No 1 skincare brand, and their products are so reasonably priced.

Take the sheet mask, which is exactly what I’ll be doing if I’m whisked off on the 14th for a romantic dinner a deux – tbh, even if it’s a pint at the local I’d like to make an occasion of it. Back to the matter in hand, in terms of convenience a sheet mask is pretty hard to beat. Hado Labo’s Anti-Aging Facial Sheet Mask sits on the skin for 15 minutes, after which any excess liquid is simply to be massaged onto the face. It’s saturated with their ‘Super Hyaluronic Acid’ (“a powerhouse blend” with improved penetration and longevity) and shots of retinol and collagen for moisturised, firmer, hydrated skin. All of that and change from a fiver? What’s not to love?

By the end of the most endless month on record (January) the need for better-looking skin is all too real. We love makeup that thinks it is skincare, and Sweed’s Glass Skin light-reflecting, colour-correcting foundation is happily now back in stock.
