Dom Joly

Dom Joly, the multi-award winning creator of Trigger Happy TV and author of the incredibly popular travel books- The Dark Tourist, Scary Monsters And Super Creepsand The Downhill Hiking Club, is bringing his first UK tour since 2011 to Cirencester from 5 August – 6 August.

In Dom Joly's Holiday Snaps - Travel and Comedy In The Danger Zone, the funnyman will recall some of the scariest, strangest and most downright dangerous places he's visited.

Dom Joly will be talking about his exploits as a serial globe-trotting and seeker of dangerous travel spots. From North Korea though the Congo and Syria to Chernobyl, he's visited some of the most unusual places on the planet. Joly famously attended school with Osama Bin Laden and armed with a trusty Powerpoint, fans can expect his holiday snaps to provide comedy and a sense of danger.

The two performances will take place at 7:30pm on 5th & 6th August at Cirencester’s award-winning venue, the Barn Theatre. The newly announced dates continue Joly’s relationship with the Barn Theatre having recently performed as part of the theatre and Everyman Theatre Cheltenham’s Stand Up For Ukraine fundraising night in March 2022 and in Dr Dawn Harper’s pandemic interview series with the Barn Theatre, Couch Confessions with Dr Dawn Harper.

Dom Joly said of his upcoming performances: “I’m so excited to be playing in Cirencester. It was the first town I called home after I left London and moved to the country. I would probably still live there if it hadn’t been for Laurence Llewelyn Bowen taking the town overnight in a bloodless coup in 2009.”

Tickets for the upcoming tour dates are now on sale at www.barntheatre.org.uk
