Justice in Motion have been selected to take part in Big Give’s Arts for Impact campaign to raise £10,000 in just 1 week.
These funds will be used for CODE, an outdoor touring theatre production plus residencies and workshops at schools and youth centres in Oxfordshire and around the country..
The programme is aimed at young people aged 11-18 who may be affected by, or vulnerable to criminal gangs involved in the county lines drug trade and knife crime both in Oxfordshire and around the country. Alongside the production, which features parkour, trials biking and live rap, there will be a suite of engagement activities, development opportunities, classroom and education resources, a dedicated ‘app’ plus creative residencies and workshops. The programme hopes to reach 10,000 young people.
Donations to the CODE programme will be generously matched by Big Give’s Champions during the campaign to make double the difference in supporting young people all over the UK
Anja Meinhardt, Artistic Director at Justice in Motion said: “We tested the CODE programme in a short tour last year and were very pleased with the results. Audiences watching the show were blown away by the story and the way it was told and the young people who took part in the residencies were really engaged and excited about being involved.
We’re looking to raise a total of £10,000. In order to access the £5,000 we have in the matching pot, we need to raise £5,000 in online donations. We hope everyone will give generously to help us reach our target. The Arts for Impact campaign gives us a wonderful opportunity to reach further and help more young people at risk.”
