Fake it

Salon nails: Get the look at home with a choice of kits from 14 Day Manicure (including curing lamp from £67). Not only will you save on time (and coffees) at the nail bar but there’s a full range of glorious colour from pastels to neon and – best of all – formulations are HEMA free. 14daymanicure.com

Chemical Peel: Regular use of a gentle AHA exfoliator as part of your daily routine will help keep skin bright, evening out tone and texture. If you’ve ever suffered with your skincare pilling, Ready Steady Glow from Ren could be the answer to your prayers, and even more so if you’re a fan of facial faux tan products which need a smooth surface for streak-free application. Radiance Ready Steady Glow, £30 renskincare.co.uk

Bare Legs: As the weather heats up, the pain of – what is delightfully termed – ‘chub rub’ is real. Bin off the bike shorts and glide this stick over and between your thighs (or under-boob) to minimise any friction. It also works well to ease you into close fitting shapewear. £9.99 woowoo.fun

8 Hours: Espa’s latest innovation is the dreamy Rest and Recovery Night Balm. In fact, the beguilingly soft floral citrus scent alone more than justifies the price tag. Massage a pea-sized dollop in before your head hits the pillow for visibly nourished supple skin on waking. Sustained use will yield long-term results after round four weeks. £50.40 espaskincare.com

Fuller Brows: The superfine (0.8mm) Mighty Fine Brow pen by Benefit makes filling in patchy brows a doddle with its three-pronged brush, designed to stroke in the appearance of natural hairs. £26 benefitcosmetics.com

Sun-kissed face: Although Votary’s Hyaluronic Self Tan Drops can be used all over the body, your face will thank you for the extra boost of moisture this blendable, buildable formula will lock into your skin. £40 votary.co.uk

Bronzed body: Not one, but two recommendations for easy self-tans for the body. First up, Utan’s Exfoliating Tan Mylk (£20, utan.co.uk) which combines gradual tanning with salicylic acid to maximise skin for smooth, even colour. Application is simple and results can be built by applying every couple of days for a week or so. With colour lasting at least a week before a natural fade, it is ideal for any pre-holiday routine. Second, Tan Truth’s Luxe Dry Oil Tanning Spray (£15, tantruth.co.uk and sallybeauty.co.uk) which loads avocado and shea butter into its hydrating formula. Equally straightforward to apply, this dries fast and delivers a superlative, golden glow.

Bright Eyes: Quilted or puffy bags are desirable when they come with a shoulder strap and gold hardware (double Cs please) but less appealing when they manifest under your eyes. SOS’s Eye Recovery Serum contains a shot of pharma-quality caffeine to reduce puffiness, and also packs in eyebright, witch-hazel, cucumber and quince extract to fortify the fragile skin around the eye area. £18 sosserum.co.uk
