Into Battle: The Art of British War Comics

Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum and Rebellion Publishing’s Treasury of British Comics bring you a brand new exhibition covering the art and history of the very best of British war comics.

Straight from the pages of Battle and Action to the War Picture Library, explore the gripping, emotional stories and art of Charley's War and gritty action of classics like Major Eazy, Sarge and Johnny Red.

Discover how comics’ portrayal of conflict has evolved from humorous or propagandist strips of wartime to revolutionary comics of the 70s that presented a more real, serious view of war.

Exhibition: 1st October 2023 - 30th April 2024

Open: Tuesday - Saturday, 11am - 5pm. Sundays 2pm - 5pm.
