Longborough Festival Opera is a summer season of opera in an intimate 500-seat theatre, set amidst the glorious rolling hills of the Cotswolds on the outskirts of Stow-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh.

Overlooking the spectacular views of the Evenlode valley, every performance includes a 90-minute dining interval with plenty of time to take in the scenery, enjoy a picnic, or book a space in the exclusive on-site restaurant.

The 2020 programme
The exciting 2020 programme includes four new productions: Donizetti’s wine-soaked comic masterpiece The Elixir of Love, sung in English and directed by Giffords Circus’s Cal McCrystal; Monterverdi’s beautiful tale of homecoming Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria (The Return of Ulysses), sung in Italian and in partnership with specialist orchestra The Academy of Ancient Music; Janácek’s The Cunning Little Vixen, a story of the mystical cycle of nature presented in an acclaimed English translation; and the continuation of Wagner’s epic Ring cycle with Die Walküre (The Valkyrie).
