Oxfordshire Artists: The Colours of Autumn

This month Oxfordshire Artweeks artists have been inspired by the hues and flavours of the season from burnt sienna and russet red to chocolate brown.

With a bold orange sky, Euphoria by Woodstock’s Caroline Parkes was inspired by Pete Tong and his Ibiza Classics Orchestra at Nocturne, Blenheim earlier in the year.

Earthsong 1 is a watercolour and mixed media painting by s Ella Clocksin, made in woodlands on Shotover Hill, Oxford. “Working hidden in the woods, I tuned in to colour and light of the turning seasons, the clinging on of hazel leaves after other trees have shed their leaves, the increasing fragility of these ancient eco-systems, and the sheer peace of absorbing the shapes, colours, smells and sounds – and silence – of late autumn among the trees”.
