Three artists at Oxfordshire Artweeks site on Woodstock Road.
You can find the luscious creations of Mary Lowry’s rich textiles, Kumiko Kihara’s beautiful and unusual lost-wax technique jewellery and the glowing Garden Collection painted this year by Katherine Shock to blow away the chill of the last months and give you warmth and light to brighten your world.
Mary is a handwoven textile designer who will demonstrating on one of her looms how she creates her one-off scarves and shawls in a mixture of yarns - principally silk, cashmere and lambswool - to give a lustrous and iridescent finish in a vibrant colour palette. www.mary-lowry.com
Kumiko creates 18K gold and sterling silver jewellery, with a focus on timeless design using an ancient Japanese lost wax technique called Mitsuro Hikime, with beeswax. She likes to capture the sense of movement,as where water touches land, or draws attention to internal space within her jewellery with a concept referred to as “Ma” in Japanese. www.fieldoftree.co.uk
Katherine paints in oils, watercolours and acrylics depending on what she wants to achieve. This year for the first time her many years as a garden designer have inspired her garden paintings with their life-enhancing colours or her gentle flower watercolours. www.katherineshock.co.uk
