Shakespeare Distillery has launched a new limited-edition Kaffir Lime & Orange Gin, featuring a refreshing blend of citrus flavours, perfect for the summer.

The team at the independent artisan spirit producer love experimenting with different flavours to create delicious new spirits which they regularly release as special editions in limited quantities. The team have layered kaffir lime leaves, lime peel, orange peel and lemon thyme to give a depth of citrus flavour and combined with almonds, ginger, black peppercorns as well as the traditional juniper, coriander and orris to create a fully rounded and balanced dry gin. They suggest serving with Fever-tree Tonic water, ice, and a wedge of lime. Alternatively they recommend shaking it up into a White Lady cocktail.

Simon Picken, Director at Shakespeare Distillery said: “We’re delighted to launch our latest limited-edition Citrus Gin and add another Distillery Special to our portfolio of premium, handcrafted products. The Kaffir Lime & Orange Gin is the perfect refreshing drink to sip on a lovely warm summer evening.”

The Kaffir Lime & Orange Gin is available in three bottle options and retails at £34 for a 50cl bottle, £17.50 for a 20cl bottle and £6.50 for 5cl bottle. These can be purchased online, at the distillery shop or from the shop at No 1 High Street, Stratford-upon-Avon.

Shakespeare Distillery, which was founded in 2015 by Simon Picken and Peter Monks, is Stratford-upon-Avon's only working distillery and produces a series of spirits including Stratford Gin, Jester Rum, and distillery specials. The Distillery also provides daily tours and other experiences including a Gin School, Cocktail Masterclasses and River Avon Gin Tasting Cruises. In 2022 the company expanded its business in the town centre and opened a brand-new experiences space with a Rum School.

Earlier this year, Little Clarendon Street was named one of the coolest places in the UK. The glowing report cited shops like Wild Honey and The Jericho Cheese Company, as well as community hub, Common Ground, and the now departed Wilding restaurant. Happily this prime venue has not stayed vacant for long. Kibou, the Japanese Kitchen and Bar, has opened its latest outpost in Jericho, and I went along to try out their contemporary and very stylish take on Japanese classics and street food.

I’m always wary of being reductive when it comes to Father’s Day (or Mother’s Day, for that matter) but surely a backyard barbie is peak summer ‘dad’ and the Tracklements Father’s Day Gift Box will be received with great pleasure by any foodie father or epicurean uncle.
