Summer Theatre at Cogges

divider

Treading the boards: from Toad of Toad Hall to Mr Darcy of Pemberley, and Sir Robin of Locksley and Sherwood Forest, it’s time for Summer Theatre at Witney’s own Cogges Manor Farm

Enjoy summer treats at Cogges, as the popular historic Manor Farm in Witney is open every day for summer. Come along to the annual Summer Theatre and meet Toad and his riverside friends in Wind in the Willows (9 July), Mr Darcy and Miss Bennets in Pride and Prejudice (11 July), and Robin Hood and his band of merry men (23 August)

Join The Shakespeare Circus, Toad and his friends who live on the riverbank for some rip-roaring family fun. ‘Wind in the Willows’ in the Barn is a new twist on Kenneth Grahame’s classic tale, sure to be a favourite with all the family. Hay bale seating provided!

Soak up the atmosphere with outdoor performances on the Manor Lawn – family-friendly productions of Pride and Prejudice and Robin Hood by the award-winning Illyria theatre company. (Bring your own camping chair!)

If your idea of Jane Austen is stuffy costume drama, then this sparkling adaptation may make you change your mind. Enjoy the beautiful setting, grab some refreshments from the bar and have a ball, as the irrepressible Illyria sharpen their claws to bring you Jane Austen at her vibrant, bitchy best! And, look out for the local Jane Austen Society, who ‘may’ make an appearance in costume for extra ambience!

Illyria are back August with everyone’s favourite rebel-with-a-cause, Robin Hood. Adapted by Oliver Gray and inspired by the earliest ballads of Robin Hood, some pre-dating Chaucer, Illyria has created a fast-moving, fun-packed family show. Featuring tales of camaraderie, good against evil, swashbuckling action and riotous comedy, this remains one of Illyria's most popular ever titles. You'll definitely laugh, you'll probably cry - and you’ll love the archery competition involving the entire audience! We also guarantee you will learn new uses for the phrase “Don’t Do This At Home.” Ice cream, summer bar and refreshments at the ready!

Check out what’s on and book online or at the welcome desk.
