Valentine’s Cocktail

14 February may be a Monday night, but it should still be marked with a cocktail. Our recipe makes up a generous glass for one or double up for your val/gal-entines celebrations. It uses local favourite – Cotswolds Gin – mixed with lemon and passionfruit syrup and it’s up to you whether you top yours up with soda water or champagne.

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Cotswolds No.1 Wildflower Gin
  • 25ml Lemon Juice
  • 15ml Passion Fruit syrup
  • Champagne or Soda

Method:

  • Place all of the ingredients into an ice-filled cocktail shaker.
  • Shake and strain over ice into a gin glass.
  • Top up with champagne or soda and stir.

Cotswolds No.1  Wildflower Gin  RRP:  £34.95

Since The Store opened on the former site of Boswells it has become my go-to place to meet friends. Squishy velvet sofas, friendly staff, delicious coffee and a relaxed yet luxurious vibe (reluxed?). There’s also the possibility of spotting an A-lister amongst the mix of glamorous guests and locals hanging out in the lounge or slipping through to retreat down to the spa. I’ve also cocktailed on the roof (those views!) and dined at Treadwell, the hotel’s modern British restaurant, so I didn’t need asking twice if I would like to go along to review the new Spring menu.
