Corn Exchange Newbury are a flagship arts centre for the South East, punching above our weight artistically and so much more than just a theatre.
The Corn Exchange Trust manages three key spaces; the Corn Exchange which includes a 400 seat auditorium, a 40 seat independent cinema and thriving Cafe & Bar, situated in Newbury’s historic Market Place; 101 Outdoor Arts, a creation space for the development of large-scale outdoor performances and residencies that feed directly into our free outdoor arts performance programme; and Learning Centre from which we run a flourishing participation programme 'Get Involved', as involving local people and enabling them to be engaged with our creative activities lies at the heart of what we do. We also support The Base Greenham, a purpose-built visual arts and craft building comprising of artist studios and workshop space for participatory events.
The programme at the Corn Exchange has developed considerably in recent years. We present a mixed programme of theatre, dance, comedy, music, film, family work and outdoor performances to audiences from across the South East. Every year we produce our own pantomime in-house which plays to capacity audiences and we also support a range of artists and companies across all art-forms through commissioning and development opportunities, mentoring and production support in all our spaces. Our emphasis is on presenting great shows and films that audiences really want to come and see.
Core funded by key partners to deliver outstanding performances, Corn Exchange are at the heart of a creative and cultural community, leading a vision for a vibrant district with more and more people involved in all of our activities. With some of the best facilities and staff in the country we are committed to involving everyone in what we do.
