Pull a power pose next to Matilda, measure yourself against the BFG, test your sparkiness on the Spark-o-meter and come face-to-face with Fantastic Mr Fox. These are just a few of the things you can do at the Roald Dahl Museum, a brilliantly fun family attraction in Buckinghamshire.

Explore the three galleries that are packed with hands-on activities. Discover how Roald Dahl’s life inspired his famous stories and characters and have a go at creating your own. Make a movie, rummage through the dressing-up box or create your own lick and stick face. Try out the replica of Roald Dahl’s Writing Chair for size and spot the 17 Quentin Blake characters in the courtyard – can you name all the books they are from?

Your Museum ticket includes drop-in crafts in George’s Crafty Kitchen and a trail to help you explore the galleries. You can enjoy storytelling from Roald Dahl’s books on selected weekend and school holiday dates led by the museum's expert storytellers in the storytelling wood. In the school holidays there’s lots of hands-on workshops and activities to choose from. Pick up the village and countryside trails and head off to explore the village and beautiful Chilterns countryside that inspired Roald Dahl's stories.

Based in Great Missenden, the Buckinghamshire village that Roald lived and wrote in for 36 years, the Museum is also the home of Roald Dahl's original Writing Hut. Take a peek into the magical place where all your favourite stories came to life, it’s a very special place to visit.

Museum entry tickets are £7.95 per person (under 5s free) and include re-entry for 12 months. The Museum is open Thursday to Sunday in term-time, and usually Monday to Sunday in half-term holidays, Tuesday to Sunday in other school holidays. Check the Museum’s Facebook page for exact opening dates and times, and for Christmas opening.
