From the moment The Oxford Artisan Distillery was a twinkle in our eye, we knew our distillery would be different. Not different for different’s sake, but different to be better; to be more sustainable, more thoughtful, more considerate of the world around us.
All our spirits are produced from our unique heritage grains, working with our organic and regenerative farming partners, mostly within 50 miles of our distillery in Oxford. Producing award-winning Oxford Rye whisky, gin and vodka, this is sustainable artisan production at its best; regenerating the land, supporting biodiversity and managing every stage from seed to still and into the bottle.
Tours run five days a week at our distillery’s home, a carefully restored, Grade II listed, 18th century threshing barn at the top of Oxford’s South Park, where visitors come face-to-face with our stunning Steampunk-esque stills, the magnificent metallic beasts that are ’Nautilus’ and ’Nemo’. Both were painstakingly built from scratch to original designs by steam engine craftsmen at one of the last great industrial coppersmiths in England – the team which rebuilt the boiler of no less than the Flying Scotsman.
