Better Leisure Centres: Get your Kids Super this Summer

The UK’s largest leisure provider Better is offering a wide range of activities for kids from just £1 this summer holiday at all Better facilities across Oxfordshire
"A really exciting range of summer holiday activities for youngsters that will tempt them off the sofa"

The leisure provider, Better, which runs over 200 sports facilities across the UK, will help kids power up from a pound, with a range of timetabled activities for under-5s; 5 to 7 year olds; 8 to11 year olds and 11 to14 year olds.

Robert Wood, Partnership Manager at Better, said, “Keeping the kids entertained during the long summer holidays can be a challenge. Whilst prising them away from the PC or the Television is often near impossible.

“We’ve worked hard to develop a really exciting range of summer holiday activities for youngsters that will tempt them off the sofa and ensure they’ll keep active and have great fun too.

“From tag rugby to swimming, Racquet sports to dance, there really is something for everyone. And, with some activities costing as little as £1, there really is no excuse not to take part.”

The superhero initiative is also supported by local sporting hero and GSF Sport Foundation athlete, Graeme Thomas aged 26. He said “it’s great to see campaigns running like this that aim to get kids into sport and physical activity. I’ve always been passionate about sports and would have jumped at the opportunity to get involved with a campaign like this when I was a kid.”

Better is the consumer facing brand operated by GLL. Established in 1993, GLL is the largest UK-based charitable social enterprise delivering leisure, health and community services.

Alongside our core leisure and library divisions, we operate in sport and legacy development, health intervention and education – as well as offering the GLL Sports Foundation, one of the largest independent support programmes for talented young athletes in the UK.
