Eden’s Fashion Show Team

Presenter Ashleigh Walker and Stylist Fiona Florczak on their careers and the Eden pop-up fashion show

"I have a keen interest in fashion; Having been self-styled for years my high heeled feet are firmly on the ground!"

Eden Shopping Centre, High Wycombe, is host to a pop-up fashion event on 2 & 3 May.

Presenter Ashleigh Walker

Ashlie began presenting the language and culture show 'Word on the Street' (BBC Worldwide) in 2011. The show has taken her around the UK and beyond reporting on iconic destinations, events and current issues.

Her travels have seen her dance in Bollywood, abseil Table Mountain, dive The Great Barrier Reef, shiver on the trains of Moscow and have her heart stolen in the South of France. Offer her the opportunity to travel and you offer her the world.

Ashlie has since had many presenting opportunities from lifestyle shows and live events to working as a newscaster and journalist. All of which have equipped her with the skills to be a spontaneous, professional and reliable presenter and investigative reporter.

So, what apart from travel excites Ashlie?

“I have a very talented pooch called 'Poppy' who always succeeds in upstaging me with her puppy dog eyes. She is keen to show off her tricks and has made several television appearances of her own!

“I also have a long-term interest in understanding human nature, which led me to undertake a Psychology degree, achieving a First-class Distinction and The Bruner Prize for excellence in Social Psychology. Not only did I discover that Pavlov also had a very clever dog, but I discovered my investigative spirit and thirst for answers.

“I have a keen interest in fashion; Having been self-styled for years my high heeled feet are firmly on the ground! I love finding original and quirky outfits that don’t cost the earth. I've definitely had the occasional faux pas, but where's the fun if there's no risk?

“I actually grew up in Ruislip and so High Wycombe was quite local to me. I'm really looking forward to being back there and look forward to seeing the locals working their own styles and creating their own trend.”

“I’m also pleased that we can bring a new concept to High Wycombe. The ‘Pop-Up’ fashion show will be really entertaining.”

Stylist Fiona Florczak

Having worked with some of the biggest stars of stage, screen and sport, Fiona is no stranger to glamour.

Starting her career as a professional dancer behind some of the world’s top recording artists she found herself working in TV, live shows and touring the world. Fiona even had a brief spell as a recording artist herself, although she doesn’t like to talk about it.

While touring the world, Fiona caught her first fashion bug, watching top makeup artists and stylist transforming some very famous faces. She knew after her dancing days this would become her new chapter.

“Today I work as a stylist and as a makeup artist as the two go hand in hand, explained Fiona, “All that I learnt from being in front of the cameras now comes to play behind the scenes.

“I love putting fashion shows together so having dancers modeling at Eden’s spring/summer ‘Pop-Up’ show this year is a real treat. It helps that we’ve got so many great brands to work with. Eden really is packed full of inspiration for this season’s collections.

“The fact that we’re mixing things up and creating a brand new ‘Pop-Up’ fashion show concept just adds to the excitement.”
