Natural Stone that Fits Perfectly in an Oxfordshire Home

Stoneworld are a family run business based in Great Milton, Oxfordshire, for over 20 years. Having developed a specialised stone masonry workshop with state-of-the-art experience, we are experts in stone, porcelain and crafting bespoke stone for a wide range of uses and settings. Here, we share our favourite stones for a traditional Oxfordshire setting; complementing our beautiful surroundings and exquisite architecture.

La Roche Internal Flooring

Light and warm tones make La Roche limestone ideal for any indoor setting, from traditional to contemporary. With a classical feel and soft fossil detailing, our La Roche limestone can also handle the rigours of day to day family use, making it a superb choice for an English kitchen or living space.

Purbeck or Cotswold Walling Stone

Purbeck limestone is a durable British stone, perfect for the outdoors. The warm tones fit perfectly into a traditional country setting, either as dry-stone walling, cobbles or garden features such as ornate signs or boulders. Costwold stone is similarly hard-wearing, and its yellow hues are synonymous with the architecture or rural Oxfordshire. Whether as walling, bespoke features or aggregate, Cotswold stone is a beautiful, locally quarried stone which will perfectly complement your home.

Raj green Tumbled

Hard wearing and resistant, Raj Green is the perfect paving stone for the English climate. The subtle browns and greens of this sandstone fit perfectly with a traditional English countryside setting, resembling reclaimed York stone. The tumbled edge gives our Raj Green paving and pool copings a timeless, weathered look; fitting seamlessly into a traditional garden or swimming pool.

As a business rooted in Oxfordshire, we have served the Count for over two decades with premium natural stone and precision bespoke masonry, as well as our own expert knowledge developed through years in the industry. We help guide our customers throughout the entire journey, offering advice on finding the perfect stone, on-site templating, fabrication and aftercare.

Whether you are looking to add local Cotswold rockery stone, or bespoke copings for your dream pool, we can make it happen.

When artist Julia Sorrell contacted me to see if I thought our readers might be interested in the story of how she and husband, Ian, renovated their property in Shipton-under-Wychwood, I jumped at the chance to learn more. Their aim was to use as many recycled materials as possible, and they will be opening their home to visitors during Oxfordshire Artweeks in May.
