Aldi’s Blood Orange Gin Makes a Return This Halloween

No tricks, just treats at Aldi this Halloween! Back by popular demand, the supermarket is getting shoppers in the spooky spirit with the return of its Haysmith’s Blood Orange Gin (70cl, £16.99), available from 11th September.

Made with a selection of ripe blood oranges and blended with the finest botanicals, this tasty tipple isdevilishly delicious and bursting with rich citrus flavours.

Whether hosting a party or planning a quiet night in with a scary movie, it’s an ideal accompaniment for a spooktacular evening. Simply serve with tonic and plenty of ice or create a crowd-pleasing Halloween cocktail.

What’s more, shoppers can save a whopping 43% compared to alternative gin brand, Malfy. Spooktacular savings indeed.

For those wanting to take festive parties to new frights, budding mixologists can try their hand at shaking up this spirited Blood Orange Drac-uiri recipe:

Ingredients

  • 200g Strawberries
  • 200g Raspberries
  • Ice Cubes
  • 2 Limes
  • 100ml Blood Orange Gin

Method

  • Zest the limes and keep to one side
  • Put the strawberries and raspberries in a blender and add the ice and juice of the limes
  • Blend until a smooth slushy-like consistency
  • Add the gin
  • Serve in ice cold glasses and decorate with lime zest curls

Earlier this year, Little Clarendon Street was named one of the coolest places in the UK. The glowing report cited shops like Wild Honey and The Jericho Cheese Company, as well as community hub, Common Ground, and the now departed Wilding restaurant. Happily this prime venue has not stayed vacant for long. Kibou, the Japanese Kitchen and Bar, has opened its latest outpost in Jericho, and I went along to try out their contemporary and very stylish take on Japanese classics and street food.
